Our Initiatives
Making a Difference
Spreading Awareness
Our mission is to empower individuals with math learning difficulties by helping them reach their full academic potential, foster personal growth, and open doors to new professional opportunities. We are dedicated to transforming the day-to-day experience for those with dyscalculia, a math-specific learning disorder, so that they can build confidence, resilience, and long-term success in math and beyond.
Locally Printed Infographic and Brochures
In 2023, we partnered with the state of Iowa to develop and distribute informational infographics and brochures aimed at raising awareness about dyscalculia. This initiative helps bring visibility to math learning challenges and supports educators, parents, and students across the state.
Partnerships for broad based Initiatives
DTRI partners with state departments of education, regional groups, and school districts to design and deliver a comprehensive Dyscalculia approach.
Partner with us to bring your bottom 30% to grade level in math.
Awareness
Even though 5 million K-12 students are affected by dyscalculia in the United States, few educators know what it is or how to help. Some don't even believe dyscalculia is real!
Our awareness campaigns give teachers, administrators, and school counselors the facts about dyscalculia.
Research
The amount of published research on dyscalculia is about 10% the amount published on dyslexia, the reading-based Specific Learning Disorder.
This must change!
The DTRI is committed to conducting research on the math learning disability. Fellow researchers, doctors, and graduate students are encouraged to join us.
Support
People with dyscalculia need our support. They need advocates, as well as training in self-advocacy. They need the facts about dyscalculia so they can share them with schools and employers. They need a community of people who understand because they think similarly.
The DTRI brings together these resources and more.
